In rural areas, beautiful scenery can be found on many of the shared roads (sharrows) for bicyclists. Rolling hills provide an easy, yet slightly more challenging ride. Farm fields and livestock sprinkle the countryside. Enjoy a variety of barn styles, a beautiful historic red bridge over the Big Blue River, and a thriving orchard. You’ll even discover the remains of a schoolhouse whose brick was used at The Depot restaurant in Greenfield located on the Pennsy Trail. While biking in these areas, please be cognizant of farm equipment sharing the roads in the spring and fall in a county where agriculture serves as a pinnacle livelihood.
